DOE Announces $1.3 Billion for New Carbon Capture Technologies
The U.S. Department of Energy announced a $1.3 billion funding initiative under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to accelerate the development and deployment of transformative carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies.
UK Commits £21.7 Billion to CCS Projects
The UK government has committed £21.7 billion over 25 years to support carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. Initial initiatives, including the HyNet and East Coast Cluster, aim to cut 8.5 million tonnes of CO₂ annually, addressing 16% of the UK's industrial emissions. This funding will support CCS integration in cement, hydrogen, and power plants.
Saskatchewan Invests $25 Million in Emissions Reduction
Saskatchewan is funding 13 industry-led projects with $25 million through the Saskatchewan Technology Fund, aiming to cut over 4.5 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. These initiatives focus on carbon capture, methane reduction, and energy efficiency.
